Preserving High School Hockey - Opening Weekend

The Elite League is proud to announce the start of our 25th year of preserving High School Hockey and our special edition jerseys.

Another full season of high school hockey begins here in Minnesota. One of the best parts of playing in the Elite League is the chance for a high school aged player to play consistently against the highest level of competition before the regular season begins in November. The positives that come from playing in the Elite League thus become positives that carry over into the regular high school season and playoffs.

Playing against top level talent allows a player to elevate their game in terms of preparation, conditioning, and skill development. Successfully learning how to perform in pressure filled game situations becomes an essential part of elevating a player’s level of performance. In meeting the challenges necessary to improve one’s play, it also provides the building blocks necessary in developing leadership skills that can be brought back to a player’s home team.

As a player continues their development the more that they learn about their game and skills helps them develop the confidence that allows them to go after their full potential as hockey players. When an Elite League player goes back to their regular season team their improved playing serves as an inspiration to their teammates to continue becoming better players too.

The growth of high school and youth hockey is an important element of the Elite League’s 25 year history and mission, we look forward to another season of excellent hockey for the players and their families.
